MAGUI FERNÁNDEZ VALDEZ

Magui is non-binary and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Buenos Aires. They hold a Diploma in Studies on Far-Right Policies and the Hollowing Out of Democracy from the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) and a Diploma in Regulation and Management of Health Services from ISALUD University. They also trained in primary health care at the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara, Cuba.
They have experience in public management in the legislative and executive branches and has worked as an advisor in electoral campaigns. They were the author of various bills, Chief of Staff of the first Undersecretary of Diversity Policies of the former Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity of the Nation and later, Director for the Protection of Rights of Sexual and Gender Diversity of the same Ministry.
Currently, they are part of Latin American political activism networks and are dedicated to research and project management, especially on issues of intersectionality, health and political participation. They also study the advance of the extreme right and its multiple impacts.
